Welcome to the grimstitute
It’s the horror fiction event you’ve been waiting for.
What we stand for
The Grimstitute is an inclusive space for horror fans - without judgement, without barriers, without exception.
Horror has long been a space in the margins and judged from afar - leading to a stigma of the fans who love a gory story. This event seeks to create a collaborative and welcoming space where fans can connect with authors in their love of horror.
Our values
Who We Are
The Grimstitute was founded by Little Ghosts Books (Toronto), Nocturne Books (Calgary), and Raven’s End Books (Winnipeg) - the horror bookshops of Canada.
They founded the convention with the goal of bringing a collaborative, inclusive space for the horror fans of Canada and removing the barriers between fans and authors.
The Grimstitute was founded as an inclusive space for the celebration of Canadian horror literature. As a travelling festival, we provide opportunities for authors, creators, and fans to share in their love of horror with one another.
There are no odd ducks here - we are all the weirdos, mister.
