The Grimstitute is Canada’s first national literary symposium focused on horror fiction & nonfiction. The inaugural will be held May 29th, 2027 I Winnipeg, MB.
The Grimstitute is a professional writing, editing and publishing event aimed at writers, readers, and creators from the horror genre. The conference aims to support, grow, and celebrate horror, and is hosted by the collaborative dark forces of Canada’s premiere indie horror bookstores: Raven’s End Books (MB), Nocturne Books (AB), Little Ghosts Books (ON).
The Grimstitute invites writers & creators to participate in a day of panels, workshops, and readings. With everything from a vibrant vendors room of gothically inspired creatives, author special guests, and a themed Trivia night, we hope to connect folks in an engaged space that brings something special to the horror scene.
The Grimstitute is committed to providing a fun, safe, and accessible space for all attendees, prioritizing inclusive programming for LGBTQA+ and BIPOC groups, opportunities for participation from attendees, and strong enforcement of our safety and conduct policies. We value strong networks and a positive community for spooky people.
